August 10, 2011 Where on Earth can you find the right history books? Must you go to the library counter? Should you buy off Ebay? Should you travel across the state to find the perfect one?

Online is easy, and not the solution. There are used book dealers across the world. Yes, this is close to impossible, but if you can grab a book or two from a used shop in some small paradise it might work.

Online is not always easy. Online may mean you get the newest book out. YOu may know who won the Pulitzer. You may be able to find out all the books an author has out. It works for some of us who are used to buying and selling books online. If you buy a book for pennies, you may be able to sell it in a lot or simply give them away for more room.

Libraries always sell old editions of copy. This is supporting a library, but also filling up your book shelf too much.

Ebay is a good spot for finding used books you simply cannot find elsewhere. They have just about everything available, but this can take some time and you may lose money on editions. Some ebay buyers do not check their editions. Different editions mean different editors.

Traveling for books may sound fun or crazy. It is both. This is where you can truly find the editions you never find elsewhere. You may try it once or twice a year with a broken down car, or make it a hobby.

Some even make money off doing this. they travel and sell the books to dealers. You may be able to check editions and win somehow. Readers never stop searching, and readers never slow down on the book search.

I always scout books at libraries then consider buying. This is how you save money on books you don't want.

How to be a PC Strategy Gamer by Jacob Malewitz PC strategy games may not be as popular as “World of Warcraft” or other MMORPGs which have risen to the top of the online world, but the true gaming world started out with creative games like “Sim City” and even “Solitaire.” These are strategy games. So what does it take to be a strategy gamer? You need knowledge. There is no talent needed, just a willingness to have fun. This guide lets you see yourself as a world leader or a general out for blood … you can even be a bad guy for a day. If you want to be a PC strategy gamer, read on. Rise of the Board Game: Actually, it didn’t start with the PC game—strategy games that is. You could go back to the days of Babylon for the first true strategy games. However, chess is a beginning. If you like the strategy involved in chess, for example, you may like the board game Risk. If you like Risk, you can be a PC strategy gamer any day of the week. Choosing Games: So where do you go for the best strategy games? I don’t mean playing games at the local mall to find out. Choosing strategy games can be a tough process. You can either take a chance, or read reviews in magazines and online. In fact, most games will have reviews printed on the box. You should become familiar with sites like IGN, magazines like “PC Gamer,” and other places which publish game reviews. There are classics to mention too, which would be a long list. One of the best strategy games, for example, seems to be the series “Civilization.” If you’re beginning as a strategy gamer, the first two “Civilization” games are a good start. Going Into Different Worlds: You will be going into different worlds as a strategy gamer. That’s the fun part: enjoying these complete worlds—as complete as any fantasy universe—and doing it for all the fun and glory. You will actually be creating these worlds from the beginning. That is your power as a strategy gamer. You may build small towns like in “Warcraft” or “Age of Empires,” or, in those same games, you may burn towns. Wanting to be King: You can be king of your own little world as a strategy gamer. To be a strategy gamer, you don’t have to have the desire to be king, but it sure helps. The world is yours to be formed. You can make the game as you want. If you play “Civilization,” for one, you can be king or queen, Premier or President. Going for Different Types of Strategy: Lastly, being a strategy gamer is about taking some chances too. This might mean going online and trying out a game everyone told you was bad, but looks good to you. Or it could mean playing in the growing online gaming world. Many top “Real Time” strategy games like “Warcraft” or “Age of Empires” can be played online. On the other hand, sometimes the best PC strategy games are from a decade ago or longer, and are turn based games. If you choose a turn based game like “Civilization,” you won’t be disappointed, even if the graphics leave something to be desired. Tips: What is a RTS? It’s short for “Real Time Strategy.” It’s games that are live, not done by turns. For example, “Age of Empires” and “Warcraft” are real time strategy games, as the clock is ticking from the beginning. Turn based games like Civilization put a bit less pressure on the gamer. Warning: Some games, strategy games included, are full of bugs upon release. Buying a brand new game is sometimes dangerous; there might be some bugs within the game, and it could hurt your gaming experience. It’s best to wait a few months for the next edition, which will fix the bugs. This doesn’t always happen, and you can find out online. Chess is a turn based game and a time based game. Most games rely on time. most games have cheating. You cannot cheat in Chess. Chess is a game formulated to be creative, but some chess masters say you should never play chess. It gets dangerous, much like playing any game too long can be dangerous. You start to win, and then you start the slide down. if you want to be a PC strategy gamer, learn when to slow down on alll the game. Chess is the first game to play, Chess is the knight’s game, and chess can be the cehaters game. You hjave to sit across a desck with someone and play a game, or play against a computer. This gets nervous. This gets interesting. This involves cheating. This can be cards. Warning: Play Chess less. Play games more.

Chess Playing Bishop Jacob Malewitz How can you play Chess Bishop? Bishops are hard to play, but most players think they are the best: I disagree. A pawn can play out a bishop. A knight can definitely beat a bishop. And technically, Rook or Queen have more points. A Rook can have five points, a Knight 3, and a bishop 3. A pawn would have 1 point, and a queen 6-8. I always disagree on points. I say a Knight should be worth more than a Rook, and a queen might be less than pawn Knight, which is in some books. How can the Knight win? Knights cannot be played by any other pawn. Knights can never be played the same way. A queen cannot take the move, a bishop cannot tackle the move, and a rook, or a castle as I like calling them, cannot play the maneuver. True, queens are strong, and you can checkmate queen bishop, but I have been able to call the knight queen checkmate twice before, sometimes young, and it doesn’t always work. Most players work bishop knight. I like killing queen and pawning a new queen. How can the Queen Lose? Queen can lose to early match. Queen can lose to sacrifice: you can sacrifice your queen early game to beat some black players. You might think the Russians can never be outplayed, but they play bishop queen. I can beat them, with knight queen. You can read a book, and American players have beaten black, the Russian favorite, with different points. Some Rooks and Queens can beat the Russian black bishop. This all sounds complex, but basically, chess is a forward moving game. You only go forward. On the other hand, queen can go rear. Bishop can retreat. Knight can retreat. King can retreat. King is not always outplayed. There are draws, there are wins, and there are losses. What is the next question to ask? What game can allow you to escape chess? I don’t play it too much. Why? You cannot get the pay. I sometimes have to play to pay, but if you play on a real chess board, say in a park, what is the point? You might play online and learn some new strategy. You migth write the book with a checkmate. Money is always in on game. Yes, there is money in most games, even cards. But chess beats it. On the other hand, you must have something else. Chess saves, chess pays, chess is fun, chess is strategy. Chess can be hell. Get out. Play a new game. Idea: play your Playstation. Idea: play some Risk board game or play some game like Civilization, Warcraft 3, or the games Go. All addicting, all outs from Chess War. Lose. Lose in Chess. Try to get some losses. Do not get addicted to the checkmate.

One game, went with Shang against Persian and Greek. I played with Egypt, who I enjoy playing in Age of Empires as they have a strong chariot and strong navy. I usually play Hittites and Choson, as they are the best in Deathmatch, a game where you are full on resources and have to hit on war. However, they are weak on navy and elephant.
